Seller Terms

These Seller Terms (“Terms”) create a contract between you and MISHMASH (“MISHMASH,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) when you supply dresses to us for listing and sale. By using our services, you agree to these Terms and our Terms of Use.
1. How It Works
MISHMASH inspects all dresses you send to us or that we collect from you. Accepted items will be listed for sale on our platform (collectively, the “Items”). After processing, we will inform you which of your Items have been accepted.
Pickup Options
We offer two pickup services, tailored to the needs of your dresses:
- Standard Pickup (via courier): Ideal for most dresses that can be neatly folded and transported in protective flyers.
- Premium Pickup: Designed for large gowns or delicate pieces that require special handling.
Pickup fees vary based on the service selected and will be seamlessly deducted from your payout, ensuring a smooth, hassle-free process.
- Once listed, Items must remain listed for at least 3 months.
- After the initial 3 months, MISHMASH reserves the right to apply discounts or promotions to push Items to sell if they remain unsold.
- After 3 months, the seller may:
- Request to collect their unsold Items from our location.
- Request a return shipment for a processing fee (deducted from future payouts or paid upfront).
- Sellers cannot take back Items before they have been listed for at least 3 months.
- If a seller insists on reclaiming an Item before the 3-month period ends, they must pay a processing fee to cover listing, handling, and processing costs.
2. Risk of Loss
MISHMASH works with trusted third-party shipping partners to handle pickup and delivery of seller Items.
- Once the shipping provider collects your Items, MISHMASH assumes responsibility for their handling and condition.
- If Items are lost or damaged during transit to MISHMASH, we will investigate and work with the shipping provider to resolve the issue.
- If a seller experiences any shipping-related issues, they should contact MISHMASH support immediately.
- Once received at our facility, Items are processed and inspected based on our Quality & Condition Standards outlined in the annex.
3. Acceptance Conditions
MISHMASH only accepts Items that meet our Quality & Condition Standards, as outlined in the annex. This includes:
- Condition: Dresses must be clean, free of stains, odors, excessive wear, pilling, or damage. See the Quality Checklist in the annex for additional requirements.
- Authenticity: Dresses must be genuine and not counterfeit.
- Trend & Seasonality: We prioritize trendy and in-season Items.
- Specific Restrictions: Certain types of dresses and brands may not be accepted. Refer to the What We Can’t List section in the annex for details.
If an Item does not meet our standards, it will not be listed for sale.
4. What Happens to Unaccepted Items?
If an Item is not accepted, you can choose one of the following options:
- Return Option: Request to have the unaccepted Items returned for a processing fee.
- Collection Option: Collect your unaccepted Items from our location within 1 month of notification.
- Donation or Recycling Option: Choose to have your unaccepted Items responsibly donated or recycled. If no action is taken within 2 months of notification, the Items will become MISHMASH’s property and will be responsibly donated or recycled.
Clarification for Scenarios
- If you submit multiple Items and a portion is not accepted, you may request the return of those unaccepted Items. The return shipping fee will either be deducted from your future payout (once your accepted Items are sold) or paid in advance.
- If all submitted Items are not accepted, you may either:
- Collect the unaccepted Items from our location within 1 month, or
- Pay the return shipping fee to have the Items sent back to you.
If no option is selected within the specified timeframe, the Items will automatically be donated or recycled in line with our commitment to sustainability.
5. Seller Responsibilities
By submitting Items to MISHMASH, you confirm that:
- You legally own the Items and have the right to sell them.
- Items are not counterfeit, stolen, or infringe on any third-party rights.
- Items are free from liens or claims.
- The information you provide about the Items is accurate.
If MISHMASH determines an Item is counterfeit, we reserve the right to report it to authorities and ban the seller from our platform.
6. Pricing & Commission Structure
MISHMASH determines listing prices based on:
- Brand, condition, demand, and original retail value.
- Market trends and seasonal relevance.
Commission Tiers:
- Below EGP 20,000: Seller receives 75% of the dress price, and MISHMASH takes 25%.
- EGP 20,000 – 50,000: Seller receives 80% of the dress price, and MISHMASH takes 20%.
- Above EGP 50,000: Seller receives 90% of the dress price, and MISHMASH takes 10%.
- Items in our clearance collection (priced below EGP 1,500) have a fixed seller payout of 60%, as MISHMASH covers processing costs.
MISHMASH adds a 15% buyer service fee on top of the dress price. This fee is charged to the buyer and is not deducted from the seller’s earnings. For example, if a dress is priced at EGP 10,000, the buyer will pay EGP 11,500 (inclusive of the 15% buyer service fee), but the seller’s earnings will still be calculated based on the dress price of EGP 10,000.
Once listed, the seller cannot alter the price of their item. Any discounts or promotions applied by MISHMASH to encourage sales will affect the seller's earnings, as the seller's payout will be calculated based on the new discounted dress price, not the original dress price.
7. Payouts & Earnings
Your earnings depend on:
- The dress price (before the 15% buyer service fee).
- Any applied discounts or promotions.
Payments are made 7 days post purchase to ensure the buyer’s return window has passed. If an Item is returned within the return window, it will be re-listed.
Cash Out Options:
- Bank Transfer
- InstaPay
- Future store credit (coming soon)
MISHMASH reserves the right to modify the payout structure and payment timelines.
8. Reclaiming Listed Items
After 3 months, sellers may:
- Collect their unsold Item from our location.
- Request a return for a processing fee.
If not collected within an extended period, MISHMASH may apply further discounts or remove the Item from sale.
9. Counterfeit & Stolen Items
We take authenticity seriously. If an Item is suspected counterfeit:
- MISHMASH reserves the right to report it to authorities.
- You may be permanently banned from selling on MISHMASH.
Sellers are responsible for ensuring authenticity and will be held accountable for violations.
10. Title to Property
- Accepted Items: You retain ownership until the Item is sold.
- Unaccepted Items: If not reclaimed within 2 months, they become MISHMASH property and may be donated or recycled.
Annex: Quality & Condition Standards
Quality Checklist
Pre-listing Requirements:
- Ensure dresses are clean. Dresses that are not clean may incur additional cleaning fees.
- Check for hidden spots for wear and tear (e.g., behind the neck and underarms).
- Ensure zippers, buttons, and fasteners are working. Broken zippers or missing buttons will not be listed.
- Ensure labels (size, brand, and care) are intact.
- Empty all pockets and remove personal items.
What We Can’t List
- Damaged Items: No pilling, fading, shrinking, stains, odors, rips, holes, or missing parts.
- Local Brands: Not accepted at this time.
- Clothing Categories: Only dresses are accepted for now.
- Bridal Gowns: Not accepted currently but may be in the future.
- Tailor-Made/Bespoke Dresses: Not accepted.
Condition Descriptions
- New with Tags (NWT): Unworn, original tags attached, no signs of wear.
- Like New: No signs of wear, may have been worn once or twice.
- Very Good: Light signs of wear; minor pilling or loose threads allowed.
- Good: Minor signs of wear but still in wearable condition.
